WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR EXPLORING MY EDUCATIONAL VISION AND LEADERSHIP ASPIRATIONS...
I enjoy living "outside the box"! I encourage others to use inquiry & "outside of the box" practices and to take positive risks. At our school, we think differently.
The Intentions Behind My Approach to Leadership:
It is with high energy and enthusiasm that I demonstrate a strong work ethic. My energetic approach to "work" is/was inspired by my high school coach, Lisa Myers, and legendary UCLA Basketball coach, John Wooden. According to Coach Wooden, the combination of "enthusiasm" and "work ethic" can be identified as "industriousness". At our school, the staff and students notice my industriousness as I learn every student's name, take time to help students build problem solving skills, shovel snow, mop floors, do lice checks, do home visits, fix technology, sub for teachers, and much, much more. When they ask, "Why are you doing XXX?"... my response is always, "Because, I am on the team".
Finally, I believe in the power of laughter (including laughing at myself😜)...big smiles, belly laughs, and humor create a connectivity that lasts a lifetime.
The Intentions Behind My Approach to Leadership:
- To encourage, support and lead a positive social-emotional + academic educational community
- To honor each member of our learning community
- To optimize academic retention by providing a safe, healthy, supportive, and encouraging environment for our learners, teachers, parents, and leaders
- To lead through my actions and to continuously improve my craft
- To collaborate in a manner that builds and maintains positive relationships
- To monitor the educational landscape by being aware of trends, changes, and educational opportunities
